1. What is the difference between sworn and normal (non-sworn) translation?
Sworn, or certified, translations can only be made by those legally
authorised to do so and must include all relevant and legally required
information within, and regarding to, the original document.
Normal (non-sworn) translation
takes place when legalization of a document is not required.
2. What is the difference between consecutive and simultaneous interpretation?
Consecutive and simultaneous interpretations are two types of oral translation.
In the case of consecutive interpretation the speaker delivers his or her speech with regular pauses during which the interpreter provides the target language version of the message.
Simultaneous interpretation, on the other hand is done in real time simultaneously with the speech in the source language. The interpreter usually works in a soundproof booth delivering the interpretation of the speech via headphones while the speaker speaks to the audience. For the most part, there are two or three interpreters in a booth so that they can alternate at intervals
3. How do you calculate the price of a translation or interpretation?
For a written translation the price is charged per unit page of text in the target language i.e. the translation. The parameters of a unit page are expressed as a number of characters. Each commenced page is treated as a full page.
The price for interpretation is based on an hourly rate. The minimum fee charged for consecutive interpretation is equivalent to two x 1 hour, and for simultaneous interpretation is four x 1 hour.4. How long will the translation take and what will be its cost?
This largely depends on the length of the document. We provide translations in three modes: standard, urgent and super urgent. The mode is dependent on the target language, the amount of text and its type, and on any use of industry-specific terminology.
Smaller documents are translated within two working days of order placement in standard mode or on the same day in the super urgent mode. Deadlines for bigger projects are agreed individually prior to the placement of an order.
The price of a translation depends on the target language and the level of difficulty of the document. Technical documents, such as medical texts for instance, are usually more expensive to translate than general, non-specific documents.

In the case of normal (non-sworn) translations of text delivered in a text editor, formatting in the translated text is consistent with the original formatting. If, however, a source text is delivered in a different format, document editing may cause changes to the formatting when compared to the original.
In the case of sworn translations, which combine translation and description of the original document (in addition to translating the contents, the translator describes the condition of the document, the stamps and the signatures affixed on it), formatting remains similar within the meaning of the definition contained in the Sworn Translator's Code.6. How can I deliver documents for translation?
You can send documents either by e-mail to info@eurologos-gliwice.com, or by fax on +48 32 301 83 06, or by post. Documents can also be delivered personally to the company’s office. You need to ensure that documents to be translated by a sworn translator are in a good condition (signatures and stamps should be visible on any scan of the document).

8. How do you ensure safety and confidentiality of your clients' documents?
Data related to our clients including the projects performed for them and the information and documents received from them are all stored securely. Password-protected access to documents relating to a particular project is only available to designated staff. Our computer network is equipped with all the necessary protection tools.
All freelance translators with whom we cooperate are asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and comply with the proceedures outlined above.9. What is CAT software?
CAT (Computer aided translation) software includes a number of tools that support and facilitate the translation process. They are not machine or computerised translations but specialised programmes that allow for the creation of translation memories or terminology databases and make terminology coherence possible. CAT tools are particularly useful when translating technical documents or websites.
10. How can I pay for a translation project?
